牛老大- Chef Beef Noodles

18 Nov

In Shida, the night market excluded, you can find a lot of places to eat. So we tried this one woth some friends.
The specialty there was fried noodles. There were different than the one we have near the university but still i had already tried those big noodles in a soup last time. So it was not a big surprise. They were ok, but not that amazing, not too oily and there were some vegetables, which was great.
The onion pancake was bad. That’s one of my favorite thing here (and also one of the first thing i tried when i arrived). But this one was too oily, without much onion inside, and too chewy. Not good.

In the end, that’s a nice restaurant if you want original fried noodles to change once in a while, but that’s not THE place to eat in the area and the noodles in themselves are quite plain concerning taste.

I-Baked

What i like about Taiwan is that concerning food they have a lot of creativity. Sometimes it can lack in taste, but at least they have a lot of ideas. This for example, an ice-cream between two cookies. Simple. Yet i haven’t seen it anywhere in France. You can choose 2 cookies of your choice between around 10 differnet, and the flavor of your ice-cream.

They cookies are ok, but too soft to be really good. I mean cookies need to be crispy, those one are soft but nice in taste (and i just checked, it’s written soft cookies on their flyers, so that’s really it)…Ice cream, not that good.

In the end? Ok if you just want something sweet, not a very refined dessert. Like you would take a ice-cream from Mc Do, which is not bad once in a while.
