Pudding pie

23 Oct

I saw this dessert last time in the 2nd bakery and i found it strange, so i decided to buy it on Thursday (because that’s the only day i can see it. They don’t bake the same things everyday…).

That’s really a big pudding on a melon bun. Quite strange. The pudding isn’t really good and too hot i think. And what’s even stranger is that the caramel layer isn’t a part of the pudding, it’s as if they had added another layer after. The melon bun is the one i had once alone, but i don’t think that the 2 flavors pudding/melon go well together.

The dessert in itself is also too big for a dessert. Not worth taking it again.

Crepe – NCCU

23 Oct

I was disappointed by French crepes in the Taiwanese way, but the Taiwanese crepes are a way better in fact. I chose one with veggies and beef (in fact it was beef ham). The waffle is crispy and huge!! And the filling is like a big salad. What’s strange is that i didn’t see her put any oil on her pan. However the dough is a lot thicker and it easily takes 6/7 minutes to be cooked, because she only cook one side of the crepe.

In the end: good and not as unhealthy as French ones…

Café Chin Chin

23 Oct

I think i have found my coffee shop. I still have to go there another time to try their salads and tea time cakes which look amazing, but i really liked their Caramel Macchiato with Latte Art. What’s more you can seat outside but still be hidden from the street, and the staff is nice. The only problem is that it’s quite expensive: 140 TWD for one e, even if it’s a big one, that’s not cheap compared to the 35 TWD of the Americano from Mc Donald.  And you also need to go there. But anyway, it was nice and i’ll come back again for sure.

Taiwanese Breakfast: Rice ball

23 Oct

I think i’ve nearly tried everything now concerning the typical taiwanese breakfast (except pastries and plain sandwiches). So this one is a rice ball filled with watherver you want again: cheese, vegetables, bacon, eggs… It’s nice too, but i prefer the Shaobing.

Taiwanese breakfast: Shaobing

23 Oct

Another breakfast: Shaobing. Basically, it’s like a sandwich with a sesame bread (i think it’s with several layers like a puffy pastry), filled with whatever you want. I chose vegetables and egg here. It’s quite good and i love this bread, just like last time. I’d rather eat it alone but i don’t know if that’s possible.
